Convenient Travel To Sweden Or Åland While Enjoying Sea Views
Finnlines ships offer a wonderful way to enjoy the maritime atmosphere of summer, with big news coming this fall.
On vacation, you have the right to relax. For those seeking a peaceful and calm atmosphere, boarding a Finnlines ship is an excellent option. Finnlines provides a fresh way to experience the sea.
On Finnlines routes, everyone can enjoy quality time together, breathtaking sea views, and great food without unnecessary noise. Passengers’ peace is respected, with only essential announcements made, such as when the ship is arriving at the port.
Finnlines operates from Naantali, passing through Långnäs to Kapellskär. From Långnäs, travelers can continue to Mariehamn or explore the charming small villages of Åland. From Kapellskär, you can venture beyond Stockholm to lesser-known Swedish towns, or even further into Norway, Denmark, or other parts of Europe.
Family-Friendly Prices
The ticket package for a car and 2–4 passengers always includes buffet meals. Families can enjoy a meal as soon as they board and again before arriving at port. With full bellies, there’s no need to worry about finding a place to eat upon arrival.
Marco Palmu, head of passenger traffic at Finnlines, points out that their schedules are very vacation-friendly. There are two daily departures: one in the morning and one in the evening. Even the morning departures are at a reasonable time, with the ship leaving Naantali at 11:45 AM on weekdays and 10:45 AM on weekends.
The ship arrives in Kapellskär after rush hour, making for a smooth onward journey by car. You can be in Stockholm in an hour.
“Finnlines actually offers the fastest sea route from southern Finland to Sweden,” Palmu notes.
Families will be pleased to know that Finnlines offers plenty of fun for children during the summer. The magic shows and clown performances are fondly remembered long after the trip, with kids eagerly looking forward to the entertainment even before they board.
Looking beyond summer to the fall, Finnlines has some exciting news. The new Finnlines Superstar-class freight-passenger ships will begin operating on the Naantali-Långnäs-Kapellskär route. The next-generation ships, Finnsirius and Finncanopus, will offer an even more spectacular sea journey.
“You’ll really experience the sea and the archipelago. The new ships are filled with panoramic windows everywhere,” says Palmu.
You can also enjoy the sea views while relaxing in the sauna or at the luxurious spa, which features an outdoor hot tub. From the bubbling water, you can admire the dark sky or, in summer, the endless light of the midnight sun over the archipelago.
The new ships also prioritize well-being, with a yoga room and gym available to passengers.
The nearly 400-square-meter glass-roofed terrace on Deck 12, close to the treetops, is open year-round, offering breathtaking views.
The new ships are equipped with high-quality business and lounge areas, extensive retail spaces, and many other services.
Diverse Dining Options
Passengers can indulge all their senses with the even more diverse restaurant offerings on the new ships. Both new ships will feature seven bars and restaurants. The culinary experience, enhanced by panoramic views and archipelago scenery, is a highlight of the trip.
In addition to the traditional ship buffet, the Superstar-class ships offer plenty of dining options and flavor experiences. The menus at Fisherman’s Bistro, Barrel Bay Bar & Tapas, and Micke’s Wine & Dine were designed in collaboration with culinary expert Henri Alén.
“The dining experience will be amazing,” Palmu describes.
The choice of ingredients honors local producers. The menus feature local lamb from Åland, island specialties, and soft drinks. Bakery products are sourced from the Turku region.
A special family-friendly area is planned for the dining experience, and Deck 12 will have an activity area with a climbing wall and space-themed adventures for children.
The cabins are designed to bring onboard comfort to a new level. The Superstar-class ships will feature family cabins for up to six people, with a divider between two bunk beds or twin beds on one side and a double bed on the other, ensuring a comfortable stay for all.
The new ships also cater to pets. In addition to a pet-friendly cabin area, there’s a dog park on Deck 12, where dogs can play and run freely.
There’s even a dog-friendly section in the bistro.
In the fall, Finnlines will offer bus transfers from Turku to Naantali, from Långnäs to Mariehamn, and from Kapellskär to Norrtälje.
These transfers ensure that passengers without cars can easily join the journey.
Meetings or Seminars on the New Ships
The new ships are also an excellent option for hosting meetings or seminars. The meeting rooms on Finnlines’ new ships are designed with modern needs in mind. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the spaces can accommodate everything from small meetings for four people to larger conferences for up to 72 participants. Attendees can enjoy the sea views and onboard dining during their business journey.
The new ships mark a significant expansion for Finnlines, known for its car-ship-car routes, as they will now offer high-quality options for cruise passengers as well.
Travelers can choose between day cruises and overnight sea vacations, where they can enjoy the archipelago views, spa facilities, and carefully crafted meals. Returning home, passengers are sure to feel refreshed.
Hocus pocus!
This summer, magicians, clowns, and musicians will entertain families! With 97 departures featuring children’s entertainers, you can enjoy performances by acts like Magician Jari and Maddaleena.
