The unique atmosphere of Kuopio’s Christmas Market is created by stunning Christmas lights and the joy of children. At Kuopio Market Square, the eye is drawn to a light canopy towering 8 meters high with 15,000 lights, along with beautiful light gates that open views to the children’s carousel, Kuopio City Hall, and the charming market hall.
This year, Kuopio’s Christmas Market features playful light bunnies, up to 7 meters tall, by Australian light artist Amanda Parer, adding their own unique and magical ambiance to the square. The opening weekend will be celebrated in royal fashion with the Snow Queen’s court and the Ice Princess, while the second weekend will host Animal Christmas at the market.
At Kuopio’s Christmas Market, you’ll find food products, design items, ceramics, textiles, and festive gifts, as well as jewelry and accessories. On-site, the Christmas treats are offered by the Christmas Charm Glögi Bar and Christmas shops with festive baked goods, candies, and holiday food products.
