Located at the edge of Linnansaari National Park in Rantasalmi, by Saimaa’s busiest seal waters, you’ll find a tourist resort offering year-round nature experiences. Järvisydän is known for its unique natural materials and creative architectural solutions. For example, the reception area features a massive old barge with its bow extending above the reception desk.
Our spa is carved into a crack in the rock, with a roof made from 500-year-old sunken logs. Järvisydän is not just a hotel, but a place offering a unique atmosphere and a break from everyday life. A visit typically includes accommodation, an activity, a visit to the spa, and, of course, a cozy dinner. We offer accommodations for couples, families, and groups.
Our conference facilities also cater to larger groups of over 100 people. The surrounding nature and Linnansaari National Park provide excellent opportunities for various excursions and activities throughout the year. Järvisydän guests seek relaxation and quality time together. Whether on a guided or self-directed excursion, it’s great to unwind by a campfire or admire the sunset.
In the summer, popular activities include champagne cruises, seal tours, and boat trips to the national park. In winter, you can enjoy ice skating, winter biking, fishing, and snowshoeing. Pamper yourself in Finland’s most eco-friendly spa. The Järvikylpylä (lake spa) delights with its unique details, like rock walls, flowing water, ancient sunken logs, and candlelit ambiance. The spa features six saunas, five pools, a children’s area, and a DaySpa. Enjoy lounging on our heated seal stones, just like a seal basking in the spring sun.

Hotel or nearby restaurant offerings
At Wiinikellari, we serve a three-course Kievari’s Fire Menu Dinner daily. The menu changes five times a year based on the seasons. We prioritize using ingredients from local producers. The resort also features seasonal restaurants, such as the Kota Restaurant in winter, where meals are cooked over an open flame in a traditional hut. In summer, you can enjoy dinner on a cruise to Linnansaari National Park. Additionally, the nearby Restaurant Solitary offers a chef’s menu from Tuesday to Saturday.

Hotel manager introduction or significant person and service promise
Tourism in Porosalmi began in 1658 when the Tsar of Russia and the King of Sweden agreed that a Karjalan Viittatie route should run through Finland. Inns were established every 30 kilometers along the roads to serve as taverns, horse changing stations, and postal stops. At the same time, the head of the Heiskanen family received a 600-hectare peninsula in Porosalmi as a reward for military service, with the obligation to build and maintain an inn. Today, Markus Heiskanen and his family, representing the 11th generation of the Heiskanen family, continue to operate Hotel & Spa Resort Järvisydän. Our service promise is to create stories that touch the heart. We exist so that a new unforgettable chapter is written in the life story of those who visit us.
